TALIE MONIN'S SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO MAMA MIRIAM MAKEBA! 

To celebrate the memory of Mama Afrika, SA’s exciting voice of jazz, Talie Monin, has released her version of Ntyilo Ntyilo. Ntyilo Ntyilo is a South African evergreen classic, written by Allan Mzamo Silinga and brought to fame by Miriam Makeba. “I feel quite a connection to Mama Miriam Makeba. It really became apparent to me as I started my music career overseas, far from home. I began to look at my identity as a South African and what it meant to be out there in the world, yet remaining rooted in my musical upbringing” says Monin. 

Talie's version of "Ntyilo Ntyilo" was released to radio this week and has already been added to the following station's playlist: Kaya FM, Metro FM, Fine Music Radio and Trans Africa Radio!

THE EXCITING UPCOMING TONY ALLEN & HUGH MASEKELA ALBUM OUT NEXT MONTH!

‘Rejoice’ is a very special collaboration between Tony Allen, the legendary drummer and co-founder of Afrobeat, and Hugh Masekela, the master trumpet player of South African jazz. The unfinished sessions, consisting of all original compositions by the pair, lay in archive until after Masekela passed away in 2018. With renewed resolution, Tony Allen and Nick Gold, with the blessing and participation of Hugh Masekela’s estate, unearthed the original tapes and finished recording the album in summer 2019 at the same London studio where the original sessions had taken place.
